Wirecora accounts are optional. Everything free works without one. If you make an account we store your name, email address, optional photo, language, country, newsletter choice and sign-in sessions. There are no payments. Calculator inputs stay in your browser. Wirecora does not sell your personal information and does not use advertising cookies.
1. Scope
This policy applies to wirecora.com. “Wirecora,” “we,” and “us” mean the independent Wirecora project, not a separate company.
2. Information we process
Your email address, message, and anything else you choose to include after opening a draft in your email app.
Infrastructure providers may process IP address, browser and device details, requested URLs, timestamps, and security events to serve and protect the site.
Band choices, values, and results are calculated in your browser. Wirecora does not receive them merely because you use a calculator.
Wirecora accounts store your name, email address, a photo if you sign in with Google, language, country, how you use Wirecora, your newsletter choice and when you made it, and your sign-in sessions (when each started and ends, and the browser's name; no IP address). A password is kept only as a one-way hash. If you use Google, we note that your Google account is linked, but keep none of Google's access keys. This is stored in our database at Railway, our hosting provider, to run your account.
3. Browser calculations, sharing, and downloads
Calculator work happens on your device. A share link places selected calculator state in the URL, so anyone with that URL can see those settings. Do not put private information in a shared URL.
Copy, image download, and device-share actions run only when you request them. Your browser, operating system, email app, or chosen sharing destination may apply its own privacy terms.
4. Analytics and external services
Wirecora runs behind Cloudflare, and Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page visits and page performance. Cloudflare describes the service as privacy-first and says it does not collect or use visitors' personal data. Wirecora does not add any other analytics script.
We count a few anonymous actions (for example, a quiz started or an account made) as daily totals. No cookies, no IDs, no IP addresses are stored.
Cookies: Wirecora sets one sign-in cookie (__Secure-wirecora.session_token, with a short-lived __Secure-wirecora.session_data copy) when you sign in. It keeps you signed in and is needed for the account to work. Pressing “Continue with Google” also sets a short-lived __Secure-wirecora.state cookie that checks Google's answer belongs to your request. Your browser also keeps a small note that this device has signed in, so the header knows to ask for your account; it holds no name or email. Visitors who never start a sign-in get no cookies from Wirecora.
To slow down abuse, each sign-in step keeps a short count of requests per network (IP) address for a few minutes, and the server remembers for one hour how many code emails each email address was sent. These counts are not linked to your profile.
Google sign-in shares your name, email address and profile photo with Wirecora when you choose “Continue with Google”. Your Google account itself stays under Google's privacy policy.
Sign-in codes and other account emails are sent from [email protected] through our email provider, Spacemail.
The YouTube link opens YouTube, and the contact form opens your email app. Those services receive information only when you choose to use them and operate under their own policies.
The Short videos on the Home page do not load anything from YouTube until you tap one. The tap opens the video in a player from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. From then on, YouTube receives your IP address and device details and may store data on your device, such as cookies, under Google's own privacy policy. If you do not tap a video, nothing is loaded from YouTube.
5. Use, sharing, and retention
Information is used to operate and secure Wirecora, answer messages, investigate corrections, and improve clarity and accessibility. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Limited information may be handled by hosting, security, analytics, or email providers, or disclosed when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety. Email and operational records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and legal obligations.
6. Your choices and security
If you have an account, the account page lets you change your profile, use Download my data to get everything we keep about your account as a file, and use Delete my account at any time: it removes your profile, sign-in methods and sessions at once. The newsletter is sent only if you tick its box, and you can turn it off on the same page whenever you like. Sign-in codes are account emails, not newsletters.
You can avoid sending email, remove calculator state from a shared URL, clear browser data, and decline to open external services. Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection by emailing [email protected].
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website or email system is completely secure. Do not send secrets or sensitive information that Wirecora does not need.
7. Children
Wirecora is a general-audience electronics resource and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Accounts are for people old enough to agree to these terms where they live; if you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian first. School accounts will come with the school's agreement. Contact us if you believe a child sent personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when data practices materially change. The revision date above identifies the current version.
