Tolerance
The preferred 4-band example uses ±5% tolerance. Three-band examples have no tolerance stripe and are generally read as ±20%; four-, five-, and six-band examples show tolerance explicitly.
Verified resistor value
A 1 kΩ 4-band resistor uses Brown, Black, Red, Gold for ±5% tolerance.

The Gold tolerance band is read at the right-hand end.
These specifications describe permitted variation; they do not change the nominal resistance encoded by the significant digits and multiplier.
The preferred 4-band example uses ±5% tolerance. Three-band examples have no tolerance stripe and are generally read as ±20%; four-, five-, and six-band examples show tolerance explicitly.
Only the six-band example adds TCR. Its final Brown band represents ±100 ppm/K, describing permitted resistance change per kelvin relative to the component’s specified reference temperature.

Digit positions use Black–White. A leading black band is accepted as digit 0, although it is uncommon because the leading zero is redundant. Multiplier, tolerance, and TCR positions show only colours valid for that role. No band means ±20% tolerance on a 3-band resistor.

The preferred 4-band example uses Brown, Black, Red, Gold, read from left to right. The exact sequence is generated by Wirecora's shared resistor engine.
The preferred example uses ±5% tolerance. Its nominal resistance is 1 kΩ; a physical part can vary within its specified tolerance and operating conditions.
1 kΩ has exact supported examples for these band counts: 3, 4, 5, 6. Three-band parts imply ±20% tolerance, while six-band parts add a temperature-coefficient band.
